  28. This is NOT an introduction to navigation on the Internet.  Nor is it intended
  29. to supplant other official "how to find ..." FAQs.  It is intended to be a
  30. collection of pointers to commonly used/requested VMS software.  Whenever
  31. possible the pointers will be to the "official" support site.  Pointers to
  32. widely known software archives will be included here from time to time.
  33.  
  34. In general, all of the software discussed here either has been or soon will be
  35. available from DECUS either as a seperate package or on the DECUS CDROMs.  If
  36. all else fails, you can always get things through your local DECUS librarian or
  37. [shudder] buy your own copy.
  38.  
  39. I'm also soliciting reviews of any of the software discussed in here from users.

  154. the developers.  The product name is Huddle and is available from Innovative
  155. Software in Denver, Col.  As before, I'm not a user or a principal in the

  392. Many sites are not directly connected to the internet.  Yet much of the software
  393. or information we want access to is not available from mail servers.  In the
  394. United States (there may be other sites, but I've never had reason to access
  395. them) I have found the FTPMAIL service of DEC Western Research Labs to be
  396. invaluable.  To get information, send a message to ftpmail@decwrl.dec.com with a
  397. message body consisting of the single line:

  411. The official FTP site for all GNU software is prep.ai.mit.edu.  They even have
  412. the basics there for GCC.  For those of you interested in G++ (the GNU C++
  413. compiler) for VMS you should try FTP from mango.rsmas.miami.edu.  They keep
  414. current copies of G++ and G++lib in VMS installable form available.  I have also
  415. found a mail based file server, MRCServ@mtroyal.ab.ca which also keeps current
  416. copies of G++ and G++lib in VMS installable form.  Once you HAVE the G++
  417. distribution from mango, you can get the regular distributions from
  418. prep.ai.mit.edu and update your compiler directly.
